We are thrilled to welcome Emma Brown (flute) and Nastasya Sumantho (piano) to our recital series in partnership with the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.
Both currently pursuing PhD studies at the Conservatoire, Emma and Nastasya formed their duo as an opportunity to balance academic research with their love of live performance and collaborative music-making.
Emma graduated with a Master’s degree in Flute Performance from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in 2024, while Nastasya completed her Master’s degree in Piano Performance at Leeds Conservatoire in 2023. Beyond the concert platform, their research interests are equally impressive, with Emma exploring disability in conservatoire education and Nastasya examining the power of expressive gestures in performance.
Come and enjoy an hour of beautiful music featuring a vibrant mix of flute and piano repertoire, alongside captivating solo works.
